Fiona Jumpsuit from Fibre Mood 14! LinkParty!

In this post I will talk about how I made the fibre mood Fiona jumpsuit! #thehemlineeclectic #fibremood #linkparty18

It is once again the time for another LINKPARTY!!! Fibremood 14 was released on April 21 and I was one of the lucky few who got to look at the patterns prior to release.

There were so many great spring patterns as usual and I chose to make the Fibremood Fiona Jumpsuit.

The Pattern

The Fiona is a very relaxed jumpsuit with raglan sleeves, a low wist tie and wide culottes style pants with pockets. It also features a back with just one button on top.

I chose this over the other patterns because I love jumpsuits above all and because of how it can be casual or dressed up depending on the fabric you use.

Looking at the size chart and finished garment measurements, I chose to make a medium bodice that is graded to a small sized pants. I did not make any other fit adjustments to the pattern. Next time, I would cur a small overall for a better neckline and armhole fit. It is a bit loose around my neck.

The Fabric

For the fabric, I went back and forth. Initially I wanted to make this in a double gauze but then realized I did not have enough yardage. This requires about 3.5 yards of fabric.

So I went with this love polyester crepe from Alyssa May Design. She has amazing deadstock fabric for great prices. Please check her shop out! You will not be disappointed.

I loved this muted color of this jumpsuit and the print is gorgeous. It did make me feel like springtime! :)

Sewing up Fiona

The jumpsuit was very straightforward to sew and everything came together very well. I was able to sew this up within 3-4 hours on the whole.

I find Fibremood designs are a great fit for my body measurements. Their style is great and their patterns are phenomenal. I have made several of their patterns and I have never been disappoint. Here is my affiliate link to Fibremood if you would like to purchase any patterns. I get a small commission from it at no cost to you.

Techniques you will learn

If you make this jumpsuit, you will learn to

1. sew up raglan sleeves

2. make a waist casing for a draw string

3. finish the neckline with bias facing

4. finishing an open back

Get Inspired

I loved making this jumpsuit although it is a tad bit loose on top. I highly encourage you to make this and lounge in it at home or dress it up and enjoy a lovely meal!
