Hello, 

 

My name is Swetha. Pronounced... Sway..tha!

I appreciate all your encouraging comments and interactions with my instagram posts. Thank you for your time and attention. 

I am a self taught sewist and a long time knitter. I have been knitting for over 10 years now but I started to teach myself to sew during lockdown in April 2020. I realized I needed a new hobby so we don't go crazy at home!! 😷🤪

My hobby soon became this overwhelming need to express my creativity through garment sewing. With much encouragement and support from family and friends, was born

The Hemline Eclectic. 

Learning to sew gave me insight into how clothes are made and the impact of fast fashion industries. I want to create my own clothing and be conscious about my what I wear and fabric choice. The style aspect is a huge bonus. 😀

When I am not sewing, I am a mother to two amazing kids and a wife to a very supportive husband (who graciously takes pictures of all my garments). By daytime, I am a neuroscientist at a start-up biotech company working on identifying new drug targets for neurodegenerative diseases like ALS.
